Detailed feedback on camp experience

I put my daughter in the Financial Literacy Summer Camp, the one for middle schoolers. The online registration was straightforward, I used the early bird discount which was applied correctly. The camp itself ran for five days, from 9 AM to 3 PM. They covered a good range of topics, including basic economics, understanding credit, and even a little bit about stock market basics. My daughter mentioned they used some interactive games and case studies, which she found more interesting than just lectures. Communication from Wealthy Habits was pretty good; I received timely emails about schedules and what to expect. The only thing was pick-up sometimes got a little congested, but that's common with most summer programs. Her workbook came home with her, and it looked like a useful resource. Overall, a positive and educational experience.

Good content, minor website issue

I registered my son for the Financial Literacy Summer Camp last month. The content seemed really solid, and he came home talking about budgeting, which was great to hear. The registration process was mostly smooth, but I had a small hiccup with the payment gateway that took a couple of tries to go through. It wasn't a huge deal, just a minor frustration. Overall, I feel like it was a good value for what he learned, and the instructors seemed quite engaging. Would consider sending him again next year if the schedule works out.

Fantastic Financial Literacy for Kids!

I enrolled my daughter in the Financial Literacy for Kids program and it was absolutely wonderful! She learned so much about saving and even investing basics in a way that really clicked for her. The instructors made it fun and accessible, and I could tell she genuinely enjoyed it. I'm so impressed with how much practical knowledge she gained. I'm already planning to sign her up for another program next year, maybe the Money Management for Teens when she's a bit older. Definitely recommend them!

Hey, thinking of signing up my kid for the summer camp. Are there any discounts going on right now for that?

L Laura White 2 weeks ago
Yeah, I think they usually have an early bird special if you register by a certain date. Check their site, it should say.

B Brian 1 week ago
They often do, especially for summer camps. Also, if you have more than one kid, there's usually a sibling discount code you can use at checkout.

Has anyone used their curriculum for homeschooling? Is it easy to integrate or more for traditional schools?

E Eric Hill 1 month ago
It's pretty comprehensive, I think it could work well for homeschooling. They even have lesson plans available.

My sister's a teacher and she uses some of their lesson plans for her class. It's pretty well structured, so I imagine it would be easy to adapt.

How legit is Wealthy Habits? Never heard of them before.

J James Thompson 1 month ago
They're a nonprofit, so that tells you something. Been around for a while, good reviews.

Totally legit. They've been doing financial literacy stuff for years, and actually have a good reputation for their programs.

Are their online courses any good? Wondering if I should do that or wait for an in-person workshop.

K Karen R. 4 weeks ago
The online ones are pretty flexible, good if you can't make it to a physical location. Content is solid, same stuff as in-person.

My teen did an online module and actually liked it. It's self-paced which was a huge plus for our schedule.

Trying to figure out if my 9-year-old is too young for the summer camp. What age ranges do they usually cater to?

B Brandon King 4 days ago
They have different programs for different ages. I think the camps usually start around 10 or 11, but check the specific camp listing.

B Betty Rodriguez 2 days ago
They definitely have stuff for younger kids too, like even 8-10. Just make sure the camp description matches your kid's age. They're good about separating groups.

Thinking of sending my kid to one of their summer camps, but funds are a bit tight right now. Do they offer any kind of financial aid or scholarships?

J Jeff L. 1 week ago
Yeah, they definitely do. I remember seeing an option for scholarship applications on their site, it's a separate process though.

R Richard N. 1 week ago
My friend's kid got a scholarship for a camp last year. It's worth applying if you meet the criteria.

What's the deal with their refund policy? Just in case something comes up and my kid can't make it to a workshop.

M Michelle Phillips 2 weeks ago
I had to cancel once and it was pretty straightforward. Just follow the instructions on their site, they have a policy outlined.
1
L Laura Moore 2 weeks ago
It's usually a full refund if you cancel by a certain date, then maybe a partial after that. Better check the specific workshop details when you sign up.

Anyone know if they offer educator discounts for their curriculum materials? I'm a teacher and interested in using some of their stuff.

J Jacob Moore 2 days ago
I'm pretty sure they do! I saw something about educator rates or discounts for curriculum when I was browsing their site.
6
S Sam Clark 2 days ago
Yes, they do! My colleague got a discount on some of their materials last semester. You might have to contact them directly or find the specific section on their site for it.
